NEW YORK: Video Monitoring Services (VMS) has acquired PRtrak, which produces measurement and analysis software.

PRtrak was formerly owned by Surveillance Data Incorporated (SDI), which acquired the company in 2002.

PRtrak VP Angela Jeffrey will become a VP at VMS in charge of measurement activities.

VMS CEO and president Peter Wengryn said the acquisition will strengthen VMS' nationwide "Integrated Media Intelligence" service.

"PRtrak clearly has the reputation of being the best in breed measurement and analysis PR company in the entire space," he said. "This was just a natural fit."

He said that the combination of VMS' content offering and PRtrak's analysis offering would be formidable.

Wengryn also said that all of PRtrak's employees will be joining VMS, and that no layoffs have been planned so far

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
