Chief Executive Officer

Peter Wengryn is chief executive officer of VMS, the worldwide leader in Integrated Media Intelligence solutions. He joined VMS in May of 1999 as the CFO and served in that capacity until being named the CEO of the company in October of 2002. Since becoming CEO, he has changed the VMS business model by centralizing widely distributed production and sales activities and transitioning VMS from a commodity business to a solutions-focused service provider.

Under his leadership, VMS has excelled in technology and product innovation. Wengryn's vision for VMS includes creating services and products designed to meet the specific needs of industry verticals including entertainment, publishing, travel, technology, and telecommunications, among others. VMS was recently selected as a "company to watch in 2008" by PRWeek, the public relations industry's leading publication.

As President and CEO, Wengryn has assembled a highly driven and extremely skilled senior management team sharply focused on supporting this new company direction. His vision, passion and leadership have become hallmarks of his tenure at VMS. He was recently named a "Supporting Power Player" by PRWeek. Wengryn is one of only a handful of PR industry leaders who are seen as "critical to the profession's growth and development."

Mr. Wengryn has more than 20 years experience in finance and management with companies such as Chase Manhattan Bank, First Boston, General Electric and Seven Worldwide. He served in various financial positions with these companies, from controller to CFO.

Mr. Wengryn graduated from Montclair University with a BS majoring in Finance in 1982. He completed his MBA in Finance at Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1985.

Mike Giovia Michael Giovia
Senior Vice President, News Sales

Mr. Giovia is responsible for leading the sales and business development activities for News Services. He was promoted to this position in 2008. Giovia was formerly the Chief Marketing Officer for the company. He also served as Vice President of Sales for the company’s Advertising Services Division, as Vice President of Sales in the company’s Professional Services Division.

Giovia is a senior manager and proven leader with more than 25 years of executive experience in strategic sales, business development, alliance management, product and brand marketing, public relations and software product development.

Before joining VMS, Giovia was Vice President, Global Alliances at Novell, where he lead a corporate-level organization directing the management of strategic alliances worldwide, including Dell, IBM, HP, Deloitte and PWC. He also held management positions at Bellcore and NYNEX.

During his career, Giovia has developed comprehensive marketing, advertising, and public relations programs to support the development and deployment of several successful products. He also has extensive experience building strategic communications plans and working at the senior level with the national business and trade broadcast and print media.

Mr. Giovia has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and elementary education from Dartmouth College.

Leslie Stubin
Leslie Stubin
Senior Vice President, Advertising Services Sales

Ms. Stubin is responsible for leading the sales and business development activities for Advertising Services.

She is an accomplished sales professional with a passion for selling and for mentoring the sales staff. She is a proven leader with extensive executive experience in sales management, business development, and has a strong background in the advertising and media world.

Stubin most recently served as a joint venture partner with KSL Media where she pursued media buying and planning assignments with clients as well as establishing agency media buying relationships. She was also Chief Media and Marketing Officer at Argent Trading where she oversaw an in-house media planning and buying group. She managed business development teams and won key strategic accounts.

She was also President, Media Worldwide at Atwood Richards, Inc where she initiated a pro-active program to grow revenue in under-performing media placement areas. She assisted media buyers in negotiating annual contracts with media sellers in print and in local broadcast. She also assisted sales teams worldwide in procuring new business and increased media spending for existing clients.

Stubin graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Brooklyn College.

James Waggoner James Waggoner
President, Professional Services Division

Mr. Waggoner is responsible for InSight, a Division of VMS focused on Web-based integrated media intelligence tools and News Operations.

Since joining VMS in January of 1984, Waggoner has held a variety of positions. Most recently he was Executive Vice President of Operations and was responsible for the production side of the News and Advertising divisions. Before that, he had also served as Vice President of Business Development and General Manager of the Dallas News office, among other positions.

Before joining VMS, Waggoner worked for Burrelle's Information Services.

Mr. Waggoner is a graduate of the Southern Methodist University with a bachelor’ s degree in psychology.

Laila Sayad
Chief Financial Officer


Ms. Sayad is Chief Financial Officer of VMS, the worldwide leader in Integrated Media Intelligence solutions.

Sayad joined VMS in July of 1999 as Corporate Controller and served in that capacity until being named VP of Finance in October of 2002.

She has 19 years of experience in accounting, finance and management with companies such as GS Imaging Services and Seven Worldwide. Before joining VMS, she was the divisional Controller of Seven Worldwide.

Ms. Sayad graduated from Montclair University in 1985 with a BS in Accounting.

Gerry Louw

Gerry Louw
Chief Information Officer

Mr. Louw joined VMS as Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information Services in 2002. He is currently building the next generation of the largest video capture network in the world.

Louw has over 20 years of experience in new media technology. Along with his proven track record of success, he brings a passion for business-driven technology solutions to VMS. As Chief Technology Officer for World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. he paved the way for WWE to become one of the top three Web entities in the world and the leading provider of online and pay-per-view video content in the world.

Prior to WWE, he served as the Chief Technology Officer for AGENCY.COM, an award winning Internet technology and marketing company.

Jonathan Cape

Jonathan Cape
Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Cape is responsible for overseeing the company's major operations centers located in New York City, Presque Isle, Maine and Louisville, Kentucky as well as the production operations in the company's regional offices. He ensures that VMS' production operation meets the company's stringent quality and performance benchmarks, and that VMS continues to deliver the industry's best customer service.

Jonathan comes to VMS with a broad background in digital media, publishing, technology and telecommunications with a strong focus on operations and commercial management. He also has extensive experience in commercial development, business administration, and program management.

Mr. Cape is a graduate of Southwest London College and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He received his Master's of Business Administration from Temple University's School of Business in Philadelphia.

Gary Getto
Vice President, Integrated Media Intelligence

Mr. Getto leads VMS' efforts to measure and analyze the combined impact of news coverage and advertising communications on key business metrics, such as sales or product preferences. He has been primarily responsible for the ground-breaking work done by VMS in linking editorial coverage to business outcomes.

Getto has extensive background in product development, strategic planning, and sales/marketing, especially in the publishing and direct response industries.

Mr. Getto was a senior executive at PRtrak prior to being acquired by VMS in 2005.

Getto holds a B.S., Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University and a Masters in Management Science from Stevens Institute of Technology.
